agreed with bstreep. people don't realize how much it costs to breed and care for puppies. you have to raise them inside or an environment controlled area cause of the weather, that means cleaning up after all the puppies a few times a day, feeding the mother a good diet, checkups and shots and tests for everyone.

if you are wanting to breed just for the fun of it and not looking for money and don't mind loosing money I would say just find an unfixed male maybe online or in the classifieds. i worked in a pet store for a few years and i know of a couple people who bred their dogs and tried giving the puppies away eventually because it was costing them so much money to care for them. but they were breeding just so they could get puppies with their parents personalities so other people could have good family dogs. i can't say i don't approve of backyard breeding because otherwise i wouldn't have found my lovely mutts. just be careful with who you deal with and who the puppies go to.
