Default Best way to quickly boost Ca?

    Hey, there!

I've got a 140 gal with about a dozen relatively small corals, none of which are SPS. I'm dosing with Bi-Ionic twice a day, and my alk is running around 11 dkh. However, I can't seem to get my Ca north of the 320-350 range. Any suggestions on how to safely and quickly get the Ca up to 450?

    Thanks!

What is your magnesium? Here's a calculator with several solutions:

calcium chloride- but research before you use. I use to get chloride from gregwatson.com. its cheap and effective.

You want to do it slowly any way you do it. Any changes should be gradual over a period of a week or so.

exactly! if you increase you calcium level too quickly, because your alkalinity is slightly higher than NSW, you may cause a precipitation depending on your magnesium levels and pH.

Yes, slowly is the key, but I use Turbo Calcium and it works well.

    Default Bad link?

Double-check that URL for me? The page that comes up doesn't look right.

    Try :

    http://jdieck1.home.comcast.net/~jdieck1/chemcalc.html

If that doesn't work, go to the DIY forum and there is a sticky thread at the very top with the link.
