DIY reflectors
I was looking to buy some reflectors but it was brought to my attention that I could use Mylar or Solar material from Lowes.
Could I just attach the Mylar or solar tube material to my canopy or does it have to be more rounded around the bulb?
I was thinking of just glueing it to my canopy like wallpaper. Also, any possibilities of fire hazards that you might know of???
I have a 120gal reef with 48" VHOs (440 watts) mounted to the canopy towards the back and a 48" Coralife PC (260 watts) sitting with legs inside the canopy towards the front. The Reflective idea is for the VHO's. My canopy is wood...with a "lift up" top and open back.
Thanks for the feedback.

If that doesn't work, some of the online places sell reflectors cut to different lengths. Check Hellolights.com . I've heard of using the mylar film, but never seen anyone do it before.

Hobogato uses solar tubes cut down the side and flattened out. I got some from him and it works great.
