Default 2006 Dodge Stratus SXT Sedan 4D (blue)

we purchased this car about 6 months ago and now the payments are killing me. were paying 345.07/monthly for this thing and there's no way i can keep up with it. the total price on the car is 13,046 and after this month the total will be 12,744. I'm willing to let this thing go for 11,500 or if you want you can take over the payments. heres the link to Kelly Blue Book: http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/Pric...nt&YearId=2006

I'm pretty sure no one will want to take over the payments or even buy for that matter but if you have any suggestions then I'm all ears. i really don't want to hurt my credit and i did find a cheaper car with no down payments and 200/month. the Stratus is in great shape and only has 30,676 miles on it. the link tells you everything else you need to know about the car.

Did you purchase off of a lot? Any way they would take it back (with you paying a nominal fee) and trade for a cheaper car--or change it to a lease? I'm not sure they would do any of this, but it's worth a shot.

It seems strange that they qualified you 6 months ago for a payment you couldn't afford. It sounds like they may not have done a very good job of explaining your payments.

If you have a home, you can take out a line of credit or home equity loan. The payments could be less, and the interest could be written off on your taxes. You MUST know that you can make the payments on this, though, or you could lose your house. I can help you look at this possibility if you like. It's not an option for everyone, but it works great for others.

they did explain the payments, but the car was not for me and i am not on the lease. my g/f is the one who purchased the car and everything was explained pretty clear to her but she did not want to listen to me. i told her time and time again that 345/month is way too much. our jobs were not stable at the time and theres no telling what the future would bring. 345.00 is a lot to come up with when your broke.

i have an apartment, not a hosue.
