Pistol crab?

I've been hearing clicking noises from my tank and assumed I had a pistol shrimp hiding in the rockwork. I've never seen him and I found this crab today while rearranging rocks. Could he be making the clicking noises? I'm sure he is risky for a reef tank at best, do people with other types of tanks have a use for him?

Looks like a gorilla crab??? Is that what they are called? I've heard they are terrible.
