    Default Ick or Itch?

well i am a happy dad to an ocellaris clown and one scooter blenny in my ten gallon sw tank. just got my scooter blenny today for 7 bucks from deatco gotta love employee discounts lol. anyways wen i was acclimating him is saw my clown had like three or four white spots on his fins. he didnt have four on each he just had four white little spots in total. is he coming down with ick or itch? if so wat can i do before it gets worse? ive heard freshwater dips help with that, is that true? any help is appreciated, ive barely had him for about a week and wouldnt want something to happen to him. thanks!

Good food, garlic added and great water quality. Dips will stress out a fish. If you had a tank with many fish I would say set up a quarantine tank, but you only have one so use it as a quarantine tank.

Personally, I'd stay away from dips - but some use them. As above, keep him fat, keep the water spotless. At 10 gallons, salt is cheap - do regular water changes to keep the water quality high. Parasites are usually the result of stress...

on a tank that small you are going to HAVE TO do them frequently!!!!! You can easily upset "the balance" in a tank that small so you really have to be observant and diligent in your upkeep! Everyone starts out small, then we all realize that dilution is key for easier reefkeeping. The bigger the tank, the easier it is.
