    Default !-Go Spurs Go-!

Tonight is the night! FYI 7:00 on TNT.

So how about it? Spurs FTW again? Can the "old men" pull together to give us a BACK TO BACK?

How do y'all feel about Avery? Should his jersey be retired?

Who is going to be the "marquee matchup" this year?

I think the Spurs are the logical choice. There are other good teams, but they either lack experience or have a proven losing track record in the playoffs.

Spurs are my pick to repeat. If they stay healthy, their experience coupled with Pop's knowledge make them tough in the post season.Like last year, don't expect them to win the most games during the regular season but will peak for the playoffs.

Avery was good and all..but what did he do that warrants his number over the rafters?

Well, other than being many of the fans favorites for years. He was really the leader of the team for many years pre and post Tim Duncan, at least Duncans earlier years.

Really? I thought Dave Robinson was the team leader for the Spurs prior to Duncan's arrival....more than anything I was probably a Robinson fan back in the day (father moved around alot witht he Army, so I never had a favorite team...just players)

Avery was a spokesperson for the Spurs, and had a very close relationship with Pop. He was the "Little General" on and off the court. He pursued perfection on the court, and helped drive the team towards winning seasons.

As far as points scored, not so much.

I went to the game last night! We had 12th row tickets! I forgot how much fun those seats were, but that was just a fun game to watch! It looked like The Harlem Globetrotters made a visit to SA.!
