Default Must have sump/Dan acrylic man

Ok I awoke today to find my entire setup on melt down. I'm having a bit of one myself. I have no reason whatsoever to put any money at all into the 75g tank, period. I've been putting off setting up my 400g tank because I've been calling Dan the Acrylic Man to build me a sump and he never returns the messages. Well folks it's either time to sh.. or get off the pot. If I am to continue with the hobby I must begin setting up this new tank I've had for a year now.

I need to find someone that can help me build a simple sump, mainly a fuge, around 220G for about $300 as I've been told that's about what Dan charges for set ups of some of the nicer MAAST sumps I've seen. I don't have much cash and I'm currently devasted/furious, with the hobby and the only way forward I see is setting up the new tank.

Should be a simple enough ordeal. Wanting about 5'x2'x2' ish in size. On one end I'd like an over hand with some holes for about 3 filter socks, then an area about 3'x2'x10" for a fuge and finally a holding area about 12"x24"x10" for water that will enter the external pump.

If you prefer to PM me if you can help so as not to have your door beaten down with more requests I understand. If you can get Dan to help me, LMK right away. I'd prefer 3/8" acrylic but if it's cost prohibitive I would use 1/4" and don't mind plenty of internal bracing to prevent bulge.

Mike, have you tried Ace? When I had problems getting ahold of Dan, I went to Ace. I love my stuff from him, and he's since learned how to really make a quality product.

Mike, a 220 gallon sump out of 1/4" acrylic is a disaster waiting to happen. Think more like 1/2" cast with LOTS of bracing. That's 2 sheets, at least $400 worth of acrylic. OTOH, 5'x2'x2' is 150 gallons, not 220, but I'd still use 1/2" and it would still take 2 sheets. The price difference between 3/8" cyro GP and 1/2" is not enough to justify going with 3/8".

Sorry to hear about your ozone problem, losing a tank sucks.
