Thread: RC Project Car

    Default RC Project Car

I have a used HPI Nitro RS42 laying around that Ive never driven for lack of time, I got it in a trade with some other stuff. Its a roller meaning theres no electrics or a motor, I have the original motor but I dont know if it runs or not, seems to have decent compression. It would be a fun project that would be cool to work on and wouldnt break the bank. Id take $75 for the whole thing including a bunch of spare parts and the manual. Check it out!

Pm if interested or have questions!

Any radios or servos around to sweeten it up?

I'm interested, but very new to the RC hobby. Would it be an easy project for someone who is barely learning??? I really would like one and building from the ground up seems like a cool idea!!

    Sorry, no.

Im not sure whether this would be what youre looking for, it would take at least some understanding of RC basics. If youre just getting into RC, something a little more complete may be better for you. But for the price, you might just want to consider it!

Anthony, as long as the motor has good compression then your safe. It is a matter of bolting it on and setting the mesh. The electronics are fairly easy - almost plug and play. If you have wired your own lights for a tank then the servos and receiver will be a breeze.
Mike, www.towerhobbies.com has some really decent AM radio systems w/ 2 servos really cheap.
This is a very decent car and easy build-up for anyone that wants to get started, especially for the price. Now Jim if you want to sell what goes with that truck body in the background for $75 I'm all over it.LOL

Yeah, Im sure you would be! lol... Still available and it comes with two stock motors, one with a pull start already installed, I dont know what condition theyre in or if they even run, they seem to have decent compression though but they may need parts, I suggest getting a new motor, either a .15 or a .18 side exhaust. .
