    Default Horseshoe crab

Has anyone had one of these in there reef tank. How well do they do, and how well do they clean the sand bed.
    150 gallon tank (48"X24"X31"), fuge 30 gallon, wet/dry filter, Protien skimmer, 2, 400 watt MH with 2, 55 watt pc. ran with a mag 12 and a mag 7.

They do a very good job of keeping the sand churned up. If your sand is compacted, they will dig in layers until they reach the glass and keep the sand loose and clean.

They are neat to have, the smaller ones are prone to get stuck to power heads from the suction and they will get blow around with a lot of flow. If you have a deep sand bed and are adding one you might watch you levels, they can stir up a lot of junk from below the sand.

I've got one in my tank ... I see him about once every three weeks. Sand seems mixed up pretty good.

Working the beach in New Jersey last summer, I'd run across dead ones 12+ inches across. I'll definately have to find a bigger home for my horseshoe crab eventually.
