    Default Huge male seahorse

Ok. I just received my shipment from Jorge for 3 extra large males. Two are extremely large and the third is huge. His tail is as large as my little finger. He is appx. 3 inches from his coronet to the base of his tail. Jorge says he will grow even larger. I placed him in my 90G. He dwarfs the rest of my seahorses. Has anybody work with these extremely large males? I know if he snickes one of the smaller males he will probably send him across the tank.

I posted some other pics under one giant leap.

Hmmm....are those southern erectus? I thought he only had northern erectus. I might have to give him a call and see if he has any left.

I had a wholesaler screw up and send me 20 huge wc erectus that were supposed to be tigertails. They were in bad shape and 19 died within days but I have one female that made it. She only eats ghost shrimp but man when she snicks I always think she's going to break the tank...it is LOUD!

I don't know what Jorge has left. Since all his seahorses are several generations removed from the wild, they tend to be larger and more robust then their wild cousins. Even the fry are larger at birth. Since the larger males normally have much larger brood sizes, I suspect he has been selecting the largest males for breeding.

Sorry to hear they weren't comes and you lost most of them. Try to get her on frozen food.
