What I found was when I removed myself from some of those types of situations, my chaces of being in stressful situations lessened. When I moved away from shady roomates into a place of my own, I only had myself to blame. That quickly cured the problems of missing rent and utilities money. A huge stress release came from that. I also believe in a cash only system, no credit cards. You wouldn't believe how much stress that can prevent. I took every class and advanced as high as I could at work so as to make myself a valuable asset there. I found it is important to not bring your work home with you. Work is work, and home time is home time.

I guess what I'm saying is, and this is true of high nitrates, find the source of the problems and work from there out. Maybe if you can identify all of these new stressors you can prepare yourself for them and make decisions that prevent the feeling of cave-ins.
    well put

Prayer, strong faith in yourself, working out, and as Mike said finding and eliminating the source are all great. I use all of these most days. I lean on my family quite a bit also. We all have hobbies to help release frustrations and sometimes to add to them. In my line of work I am super close to the guys I work with and we can rely on each other no matter time or place. Sometimes I like to just be mean and go to a public place and look around -after watching the general public for a while- it is then that I realize that it could be a lot worse in my own life. I also enjoy writing 3 and 4 paragraph responses to topics and then deleting them before I post so as to not offend others. All you can do somedays is keep plugging along and eventually you either pass up the problems, don't care anymore, or the problems just give up when you won't.

I remind myself a thousand times over that I could have it so much worse- I could be homeless or starving. I'm lucky to have my house, my food, my family, and my hobbies. I even consider myself lucky to have mediocre things to worry about, instead of worrying about living. I would much rather have to worry about a crappy day at work than trying to figure out how to feed my family.

And I take walks in the park and hang out with my dad and sister. It helps a lot.

when you get mad to the point that you feel your going to break find a gun range. being loud and destructive will really blow off a lot of steam.

listen to rage against the machine. no one is madder than zach de la rocha.

listen to sgt pepper's lonely hearts club band. you can't be in a bad mood after hearing that; you just can't.

if you're a dog person, find a puppy and smell its breath! nothing cures anger or depression like puppy breath! if you're not a dog person, stay as far away from dogs as possible!!!

me? i'm a rapid cycling bipolar so i wait 10 minutes and another mood starts.

    (yes, i'm totally serious)
no, i don't exactly have fish right now, but that's only because i want to be a conscientious marine aquarist first.

Haha, listen to Rage Against the Machine, it'll make you laugh so hard at Zach's pathetic lyrics about hating the man and corporations yet he is the tool that keeps the machine running smoothly. How could you stay mad laughing that hard? Chuckle to yourself when you hear his politics about bringing down the Gov, consumerism, the rich etc.... knowing in your hearts that tickets to the show are $50 and just how many millions did he cash at his bank? Rage was the perfect tool to market his music with while getting rich, rich, rich.....
