OK so right now for internal flow i have a closed loop that has a 1200 gph iwaki on it that puts out thru 2x 1" bulkheads then tees off into 3/4" locline... intake is a 2" bulkhead w/ strainer. in addition to that i have a ~1000gph submersible pump that is putting out around 700 i would guess with the head pressure.
now i am looking at a few options to solve some of my problems i am starting to get build up in dead spots so in some areas im having issues with diatom and red slime algae.
option 1 leave it alone the problem is feeding excess nutrients etc WRONG i reduced feeding to once a week to the point where my tangs looked like they were about to die then increased it to just right.
option 2 upgrade CL pump to a dart and put iwaki in as the return and trash the submersable in addition to the dart increase the number of outputs so that there will be minimal back pressure on the pump.
option 3 install something that would cause water ossilation so taht there are no more dead spots. items looked at were wavebox(should be made of gold) scwd(too small) ocean motion (wave box cheaper with purchase of new pump too) and i am thinking of tunzes on controllers are there any ideas out there that i havent thought of? the idea i like the best is the dart but i know my fish would like the random current to swim in and my fiance likes to see the wave action.
sorry if mispellings and puntuation errors are through the roof im on an ergonomic keyboard at work which is a pain to use.
