    Default Modified biocube 29

This is my new bc29. I have modified the filters and lighting(nanotuners.com 144watt setup). I am about two weeks in pictures are below ...

    Filter consists of the following:
    Chamber 1 contains
    regular filter removed
    Small amount of polyester fiberfill
    1/2 lb of live rock
    Chemipure Elite
    Purigen

The wall between chamber 1 and 2 has been widened

    Chamber 2 contains
False bottom removed and 3lbs live rock rubble added
    False bottom reinserted
13 Watt 6500 Pc light mounted to the back of the tank
Chaeto added to the inside of tank
Zip ties and egg crate make an area for 1lb of live rock to fill the gap between the waterline in chamber 2 and the trickle system (decreases noise and possibly evaporation)

    Chamber 3 is stock

    inhabitants include
    30lb's of aragonite live sand
    10lbs of fiji live rock

GREAT START! I have the same tank. And it is now a little over 2 months and I just started adding corals. I would wait a bit longer to add any coralst and im sure others would agree. Why the damsel? My thread is below yours with my BC 29 Diary. You will see that alot of Bio Cube owners simply fill the back chambers with water to prevent any splashing noise; basically ignore the mim and max lines. I have 32 lbs of marshall premium fiji rock. My mods are widening the slot from Chamber 1 to 2. Chamber 1 Filter Floss in the cartridge and heater, Chamber 2 removed false bottom, bio balls and drip tray replaced with 5lbs of LR rubble, bag of carbon and purigen. I took off the crappy nozzle and replaced it with a nice split Lockline ( i have a spare 1ft if you want it) Ive also added a Hydor Koralia 1 pump to add more flow to the tank. Heres a pic of my tank, its all softies and LPS assorted Zoas, Shrooms, polyps, xenia, colt, and a candy cane coral. I also have a Yellow Clown Goby but will be adding a clown pair and a shrimp. If you havnt checked it out go to nano-reef.com and check out the all in one forum. Below is a pic of my tank 2 weeks ago, since then I moved everything around a little and added the Hydor Koralia pump and the lock line. Good Luck

I know I should probably wait but I have great faith in the power of chemipure and purigen. Plus all the coral I am getting will be easy to keep species. The tank is cycling fairly quickly.

My tank cycled quickly too but I waited, to many horror stories of what happens when you dont. But trust me when I say that the quick cycle can be decieving. But there are also the cases where things go ok. Good luck with the tank.
