Here’s a little marketing information:

The Solaris is the first LED System designed to replace Metal Halide and Fluorescent lighting for the Aquarium Reef Tanks. It has been in development for over two years. It will change the way Aquarists light their tanks from now and into the future.

The life of the LEDs is approximately 50,000 hours, so it almost eliminates metal halide and fluorescent bulb replacements. All heat is radiated up and away from the tank; therefore, it does not heat the water like Metal Halides or Fluorescents. This eliminates the need for Chillers. The room air conditioner needs to work ½ as much since the light fixture produces only ½ the heat of Metal Halides which saves even more energy over traditional lighting methods.

The G series has a built in microprocessor. This not only eliminates timers, but it allows the unit to dim the actinic blue LEDs, white LEDs, Lunar actinic blue LEDs and Lunar White LEDs independently from 0-100%. This dimming capability opens many opportunities. The light can be adjusted from 6.5K to 22K, or anywhere in between, to set the ideal color temperature. Sunrise, Daylight, Cloud Cover, Sunset, and the lunar cycle, can all be set independently.

Oh yes, the warranty is fully transferable, as well as the unit working in perfect order. The ONLY REASON I am selling it... is to appease the wife, after she found out the price I paid for it. My offer to purchase 1 Coach purse, upgrade on her wedding band, and 1 full day pass at a Massage/Sonia wasn't enough! :lol

Yes, the warranty is transferrable. Thanks to ME! Seriously, I badgered PFO on reefcentral to death on that. They had no transferable warranty, on a new technology item, that they were immediately offering a newer version of! People were wanting the new version, and still had 18 months left of warranty. In addition, PFO now has a competitor, and they were offering a transferable warranty.

One more question is it the full 48" or the new 46" sold as 48"? I am interested if this will fit in my canopy. I am in Boerne north of San Antonio on IH10.
