yup, when the sac starts to disappear or sooner if they start eating usually less than 30 days, I used to just crush flakes up real fine and/or fresh hatched brine.

My angels used to lay eggs every 14 days like clockwork

I have only had convicts spawn but I used crushed flakes and I feed the parents a little bit more than I normally did. The convicts started eating about a week or so after they started swimming and they eat little left over from the parents. Good Luck

i remember when I tried rearing angelfish fry... some of the suggestions:

put a piece of slate in the tank and try to position it so that the angels use it to spawn on.

remove the slate to another tank, and place an air stone near it (the current will simulate the parents fanning the eggs and keep debris off them)

Treat the water w/ methaline blue, or some other anti-fungal medication as this is the primary enemy of eggs.

do small water changes siphoning detrius off the bare bottom w/ airline.

somewhere, I have a pamphlet on breeding angels i got from 'oodles of angels' before they went out of business... i will see if i can find it though it is probably lost in the 'divorce mess' forever.
