Little Rio's are/were pretty bad quality. When I first got in the hobby over 2 years ago, I bought 2 and they both shorted out in less than 2 weeks ;)
But on the flip side, I haven't had any problems with their larger pumps. I've had a 2100 pump that has basically run nonstop for 2 years, in various setups. Its STILL running great in my live rock curing tubI think those larger pumps they make are built nicely, and although they do not perform as well as a MAG pump, they still do work good for utility purposes.
On a side note, the only time I did think the pump died was yesterday. I took it apart and cleaned it only to find out the **** extension cord was unplugged the whole time! :lol
