Default very sad for my clownfish

i was cleaning the glass this morning and i had to break off a piece of purple cap to get to the corner and scrub.. well my male clown fish didn't want to move.......when i scrubbed back and forth i knocked about 30-40 baby clowns off their nest.. they look like they were aleady starting to hatch. you could see a little body with the egg sac or yolk sac attached.. my male clown was freaking out trying to keep the chromis from eating them.. it was very sad.. but good to see that my clowns are mating. i know they would not survive so may be time to look into a rearing system. i have the room just don't know if i have the time and dedication

Being the clownfish connoisseur that i am..LOL.. I'd suggest you read Joyce Wilkerson's book "Clownfish". In my opinion, it is the most complete book about clownfish and their breeding habits. It shows you how to care for them before they hatch. I had a gorgeous pair of Onyx that where in the mating stages when they died. Saddest day in my life :(.

    Best of luck to you.

If you have any questions, i'd be happy to help you.

Tex, see if you can get ahold of INSTAR, he (www.bhergia.net) he breeds clowns.
"Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind." ~ Jack Handey
