    Default New Toy

I decided to step up to a better camera before splurging on more lenses. After searching through many different reviews of different cameras it really came down to two that I wanted to seriously look at, the Nikon D80, and the Canon 30D. Then I found this little gem that I ended up buying, the Pentax K10D. Although it looks like the images straight from the camera may not be as good as some others, the raw images and when adjustments are set right they just look great.

Pictures to be posted once I get the camera in and learn to play with it a little more. I know a tease, but can't waite to get the new toy and start to really explore photography more, the two (photography and reef tanks) just seem to go toghether so well.

Yeah, the fun parts going to be finding a good macro lens for it now. That image stabilizer system will come in very handy as I had dealing with getting my tripod out for the quick pics.

That's what I fell in love with on this camera is that it's built into the sensor so I can put on any lens for Pentax and the stabilization is there instead of into the lens.
Now I need to start reading all that stuff in the sticky to really learn how to use it.

OK, let's see if this works. I just started a photobucket account so I'll see if this works right or not.

These are the first pics with it. Hopefully new and better pics to come.

    Yes it is.

I couldn't get any good shots with the kit lens that came with the camer a of the tricolor and a couple of other corals but should have a new macro lens in soon. Hopefully it will do a little better job. That and I want to start shooting some of these in RAW format and converting and see if they come out a little better. BTW, that was one of the preset white balances on it and it actually did a rather good job of capturing the true colors.
