    Default replacement canister

Anyone know where I can get a replacement of the clear canister of my ro unit that I broke by overtightening?

Home depot has. Tons of places including ebay have them on line. Check Buckeye Field supply.

Unfortunately the thread patterns on housings are not interchangeable, and unless you can get a housing from the original vendor usually your situation requires some disassembly of the system to replace the lid, as well as the broken clear sump.

How did it break? Was the system dropped?

Some housings have a thin lip that the o-ring sits behind, if you thighten it too much, the lip will break and not allow the o-ring to seal properly.

I don't think he lid needs replacement...only the canister. Jim, I think you are right in that it was probably tightened too much when I replaced the media...

My point is that the lids from manufacturer x don't fit the sumps of manufacturer y. So unless you can get a replacement from the original vendor (who presumably might still carry the same brand of housings), you may have to replace the sump AND the lid.
