How big are the hole you talking about? Can you patch them or do you need to put a section of drywall in place and tape/float for painting.

Wish I'd realized this when you were over the other day. I have some left over drywall out in the garage you would have been welcome to also.

Sounds like your best bet would be just make cuts from the middle of each stud and as tall a piece as you want to deal with. If you want to replace a whole sheet you can do that also, your choice I suppose. I know a guy that does it but wouldn't recommend him unless you weren't in a big hurry. Of course working for someone other than us he might move a little faster on the job. He does do good work and if it's nothing big I'm sure he wouldn't take too long if he has the time. If you want I can get his number and PM it to you.

Tagging along. I have a couple walls in my house where I replaced sheet rock after taking out the inwall tank and then doing some plumbing repairs. I need someone to tape and float the new and old sheetrock together. I'm terrible at it and would love to find someone that could do it on the side.

I know a guy who's good at taping/floating and painting. He's not cheap, but the job gets done when he says it will. Send me a PM if you want his number.

For small holes, insert a piece of wood or drywall into the hole, and bridge the hole from behind. Then screw a piece of drywall into the hole as a patch. Tape & float.

When I do things like that, I take the pieces and put them in the hole. That way I KNOW where they are! Seriously, if it's just tape & float, it's pretty easy to do a small job. DON'T buy the spray cans of texture - they have enough in them for about a square foot. Not 10 like they say. Buy the pump sprayer to do a small area, bigger areas require a compressor. I'm a DIYer, and I've done a bunch of this...
