If its round stock, make sure they will not roll off the top of the aquarium. I can just picture them rolling off the edge and the light falling into the aquarium
and that sir is my fear. I did think about those! I thought about the towl rack bars from the bathroom? It is square, just not sure if those could handle the heat.

Try some aluminum angle from Home Depot. Not real cheap, but will work.

how about aluminium straight edges in the tools section... then you can use them for something else later.

Some people are like slinkies.. they serve no useful purpose what so ever.. but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

Eric i have those metal bars on my 125 remember?...
they kinda look like the trim to a frame of some sort... or like those long bars you drill to the wall and use to make shelfs or something like that.. ANY WAY...you can borrow mine if you need someting asap...
Although i'm not sure if they are to long?? and im at work so i cant measure them, but its a 125g and they rest on the top lip of the tank from front to back... isnt that about 20 in??

    Not sure..
