    If I am not doing sps would I still need to go with the 400 watt.
    150 gallon tank (48"X24"X31"), fuge 30 gallon, wet/dry filter, Protien skimmer, 2, 400 watt MH with 2, 55 watt pc. ran with a mag 12 and a mag 7.

    i would say that you dont even have to use metal halide if you arent doing sps. 250 watt halides should be fine for everything, even sps - they would just have to go close to the top of your rockwork.

    Ace, how are the ballast from hamilton tech. I found a duel 250 watt ballest that I am intrested in getting

    How fare off the water should i put the lumanarc reflectors.

    I finally finish seting up my new tank. I had a calfo put in across the back of the tank with 2 1.5" holes drilled for my sump and fuge, and 2 1" holes drilled for my return. The calfo and holes were done by Louis (thanks). I also added about 100 lbs of sand to give me a nice four inch sand bed. My return is powered by a mag 12 and my skimmer is powered by a mag 9.5. My fuge is a 30 gallon tank that I had drilled to flow into my sump. The lighting system is a 400 watt duel ballest from hamilton technology with lumanarc reflectors and coralvue bulbs. I hope after some time that it can look as great as some of the tanks I have seen on the website. Thanks for all of the advice!
