Thread: 2 fish MIA

    Default 2 fish MIA

I added a clown and a lawn mower blenny to my tank Saterday. Both seemed perfectly healthy and happy. The Blenny seemed a bit skittish but was still swimming around checking things out and eating straight out of the bag. Both fish were breathing fine. They servive the night Saterday. Sunday they are still doing fine, even more active. Then this morning...... no clown no blenny..... no trace, no body, no pile of hermit crabs.... What could make 2 seemingly health fish vanish over night? I think I need to call in CSI.

Yea look everywhere in filters, behind them, behind the tank unless you got cats then if they jumped you wouldnt find them either :P keep an eye on your levels maybe there barely out of sight in the tank.

well the tank has a canopy on it. the only place to jump is out the back. and they have to options from there. off the wall into the sump or just straight into the sump..... but what are the odds that 2 fish would jump out of a tank on the same night? The clown I already had in there is still there. nothing wrong with her. There were apsolutley no signs that either of these fish were in bad shape.

March 20, 2007 I my wife bought me a mandarin and it dissappeared that night. Thought maybe my BTA ate it. I found it last thursday in my sump May 3, 2007. I had checked in there several times before and never found him. He was mixed in with all the LR rubble. Oh yeah, he was ALIVE. So keep looking they have to be in there some where. I found him because my 6 line never came out during feeding so I was looking for him. My 6 line was in the overflow, I guess he was to scared to take the plunge.

I've had 2 fish disappear for several weeks at a time. My black blenny disappeared and was presumed dead. He's not a small fish, maybe 5 inches long. He was always first in line to eat when I fed. Then suddenly he was gone, never to be seen again. After several weeks, he just appeared ready to eat with the rest like nothing ever happened. At about the same time the blenny appeared, the valenti puffer disappeared. Same story. Suddenly he appeared again ready to eat after several weeks.
