Thread: Used Camera

    Default Used Camera

I have a question for the camera buffs. I am upgrading to a newer camera and have the chance to buy a used Sony cybershot 5.1mp. Model # DSC-H1. I do not know cameras so I am trying to find out if $250 for this camera is worth it. Excellent shape and about 1 1/2 year old, comes with bag, 1g and 2g cards and all paperwork. Thanks for any help.

Texreefer is right, I just sold a Nikon S4 6.1 mpx which I paid 350 for for 150 to my friend but for pictures of your tank you really need something with enterchangeable lenses. The best picts are really with Macro lenses. I just bought a Nikon D80 not too long ago and the quality is well worth the price.
I think 250 is overpriced for that model!

I agree. the d80 was a great choice even though she paid alot (around 1500) but she got free classes out the wazoo. I will always advise to buy new when it comes to a camera, as the technology is progressing!

if you go to best buy or the sony outlet in san marcos best buy they matched the sony outlet price on the H2 for me its 7.2 mp and i got it for 275 just a thought and you can put macro lens etc on it thats what i use when i dont want to lug around my sony alpha or risk loosing breaking or having it stolen

New egg is an absolutely fantastic site. I urge anyone to look here for computer parts before buying!

you can do better than sony for that price. sony cameras have high cost of ownership and the pics they produce do not justify the higher price.

in the $250 range look for a canon s2-is, tough to beat for the price

There are so many cameras out now that it can be tough to pick one.

Check out www.dpreview.com for lots of reviews and also consider joining a photography forum.

I am a member of www.texasphotoforum.com, great place and friendly folks.

Camera's like everything else are incremental, For $200 you can get.... for $250 you can get.... and so on. Next thing you know you are spending thousands. Sounds like another hobby doesn't it? Pick you price stick with it and then research and ask questions and you will find a camera that fits your needs.
