Thread: Looking to buy a NANO

Default Looking to buy a NANO

Thanks to the military I'll be moving soon (watch for a for sale thread soon). Not that moving is bad but the tank tear down is a pain, and I'll only be there for 2 years. So not worth setting up a big tank just to tear it down again

SOoooo.. going to start a NANO. Going to frag most of what's in my big tank now so it will be stocked with coral.
But the question is which one... I want to be able to keep SPS without to much modding of the tank and canopy.
    Looking for suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

The new RED SEA nanos look nice, but I dont think they have a MH, if thats what you're looking for. DO NOT BUY AN ECLIPSE! There's not much to mod, we bought one because it went into my gf's daughter's room.

On a nano would mh be required for SPS or could it be done with PCs?

My personal experience- Biocube 29 w/ stock pc's kept some montis and 1 acro alive, but the results were poor. They did not grow and started to lose their color no matter where I put them. If indeed you want to keep sps in a nano I would at least upgrade the lighting to more watts if you don't go with mh. You will also have to put in alot more flow than stock.
