    Default how many fish??

    Guys i have a 75+g tank, but i was wondering how many fish can i keep in the tank. As of right now i have a s. y. tang, s. salfin tang. pair of small blk clowns s. flame hawk and a goby. setup includes an overflow box leading down to a 20g long through a container with bioballs, a fuge and coralife skimmer up to 125g. please advise?? Also how do i figure the size gallons of tank?

    I prefer around one fish per 15 gallons or so depending on the fish size....

    i'd say it also has alot to do with the TYPE of fish as well and as Joshua said, with those fish your probably maxed out!

    I always heard it was based on adding the total maximum length of all the fish. Not more than 1 inch per gallon. Less is better. :skeezy

    Cindy that theory is trying to be put to rest. That old saying has zero validity. Take a frogfish for example. Total length might be 8" but heck they are 8" wide as well, then compare a tang of 8" long and it's about 1" wide. Same length but completely different cubic inches.

    It all depends on your levels, and overall happiness of the fish IMO. If you have what would be known as an overstocked tank, none of the fish you have swim in the middle or top, just all at the bottom, you may have overstocked the bottom area, but it would not nessecitate being "overstocked". Vary your fish, try to get moderate amounts of each. Less is better, you'll know if you have too many.
