Default How to build a Sump for a 30 Gallon Saltwater Tank

Can some one please give me a overview on how to build a sump for my 30 gallon saltwater tank. I guess the main reason why I'm wanting to build a sump is to get rid of or just to have the least amount of micro bubbles returned to the tank from the skimmer.

Half of my tank is Crystal clear and the other half is covered in micro bubbles. I followed the instructions for the coral life 65 protien skimmer, and i still have the bubbles.

So im thinking that a sump would get rid of most of the bubbles. Any one have an idea on how to start to build one of these external flow systems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 30 gallon aquarium, w/ a maxi jet 900 powerhead, 38lbs of live rock, 29lbs of live sand, a 2213 eheim canister filter, and a heater. Those are my specs. Please help thx

remember greg, if you add a sump, you have to have a way for the water to drain from the main tank to the sump. some tanks accomplish this by drilling and having a built in overflow, and some people use an over the edge overflow box.

I think im past the drilling the hole and doing a internal overflow, I would probally need the over the edge overflowbox. Know of any place that would sell them, Can one of you smart tank guys give me a list of everything that I would need (Over the edge Diagram) for the Sump. to work on the tank.

I have 75 gallon fresh water that I have 2 eheim 2217's on and I Know alot about aquarium, but when it comes to this, I am completely baffled. I guess Im affraid of the water syphoning out of my tank and onto the floor, but Im sure that does not work like that.

Actually some HOB overflow boxes will do that. Mines done it before but theres ways to prevent it. Most have things to prevent it. I'd get it drilled unless tempered
