    Default Aiptasia Party

I have weeds in my yard and aiptasia in the tank. They had been held in check by joes juice but have recently exploded in population. So...I am thinking of using berghia from Instar. Has anyone ever used berghia? I am thinking 10 for my 90 gallon. Any thoughts here?

Of course, I do have to get my neon dottyback out first. Quite sure he will eat the expensive berghia!

I put two in my 155. After a couple of months I have only two large aiptasia and one small one left. And one of the large ones doesn't look too good right now..

My CBBs have decimated the aptasia in both tanks.

So...no really great testimonials about berghia then? They are very expensive. I had thought about a CBB but am aware of their feeding issues. I tried peps but my neon took care of them within 24 hours :(

there are a lot of people that have had success w/ bhergia.

they are masters of camoflage, never seeing them again is a natural thing. Aiptasia is their food source, they will populate the aquarium and decimate the infestation if you have patience.

do a search on reef central, you can find pictures of bhergia munching down on aiptasia, and since we know instar feeds aiptasia to his bhergia, we know that they really do eat the stuff, or he wouldn't have much to sell.

I personally think they are the most elegant solution to the aiiptasia problem.

I bought some from instar, and they were doing really well until the tank overheated, but when that happened, they were not the only thing to die. :(

a long time ago, I had a bunch of aptasia, got some berghia from Instar, in 2 wks no more aptasia, never saw the berghia again either

they are expensive yes, but worth it, keep in mind, they ONLY eat aptasia, so once is gone from your tank, no more food for the little buggers, they'll die :(
