Default On The Lighter Side of Things

Well, this weekend started out kinda funny for me. I had major tank issues (see the emergency section) and this morning my skimmer crapped out! I am also currently unemployed! I spoke to my girlfriend this morning and we were talking about bills coming etc, and how we are BARELY making it, and she had asked if I had heard back from the people that I had interviewed with on Friday, which I had not. I checked my email and WHAM!!!! Not only did I get the job (of my dreams) but they are offering me 2k more per year than what I had asked for!!!!
    FAITH IN GOD PEOPLE!
Now, I can replace all of the dead things that came out of my tank!

Congrats Erik. I know about the waiting game at times on hearing back from people. In the middle of it myself, although in this case I have a job at the moment so no probs yet. ;)

    Way to go!

Now do us all a favor and save up for a 'cushion fund' so you won't be sweating it the next time your in a jam like you were. THEN spend money on your tank! ;)

I did have a cushion fund built up. Then, I got a s/w tank, and it kind of went bye bye. I wasn't sweating it though, because I had a job. Too bad for me that my boss had to be all up my keister all day with everything I was doing. I used to want to tell him "Look man this is Altex. There are hourly employees here that are dee dee dee, and you're messing with your only onsite network engineer, let alone the one you want to help lead regional?" It got old, and my new offer was 10k more than I was making at Altex, I am just glad that today came, and with the extra money, my bosses can razz me all they want!

Congratulations! I'm glad to hear about things working out for you. It's funny how life works that way. I also had a really bad luck spell for about 2 months (Jan-Feb). I thought I was gonna go crazy. Emergency after emergency quickly sucked my emergency fund dry and then when I though it couldn't get worse, my wisdom teeth decided to go crazy on me. I was in so much pain and then the anathesia didn't work on me at the Dentist office (no dental insurance either). They gave me the pill cocktail and I was still 100% sober. It sucked. I missed 2 weeks of work in February due to being super sick because of the wisdom teeth extraction. I was so frustrated with life...then I got my paycheck a whole week early! And a big one too! I had worked so much the first half of Feb, that it covered the second half too. The Lord works in mysterious ways. No major problems since! Life is good once again. It looks like things are looking up for you too, Erik.
