Right now Im running "super anti spyware" and its detected 166 "threats" 115 of them being "addware tracking cookie". This is the first time Ive ever installed any kind of virus protection software on this computer. .

tracking cookies are perfectly normal, as a matter of fact there should be one from maast on your computer

if that is all it found you are doing great

crap, i thought it had posted earlier, go to tools internet options and there are 2 tabs which allow you to set DEFAULTS, do that to both. that should fix anything that may have changed.

It still has a major lag between the desktop and home page and when I click on a link. I ran Nortons free trial last night and it produced several questionable items. Like I said, I did the cookies thing and it didnt seem to do anything but remove all my log-ins and passwords. The other users side works perfectly, its mine thats screwy. It has to be some hidden setting or something that has to do with the initial error message. And webtv keeps on chuggin along... lol

jim, you may also need to empty the internet cache items. under the "tools" menu, choose "internet options" and click on the "general" tab, click the button right next to the "delete cookies" button that says "delete files". when the warning window pops up, be sure and check the box that asks if you want to delete the offline content also, and click "OK"

Lol I told him to do that! Also, you could have a virus that has attached itself to your settings. I know it sounds retarded, but yes there are viruses that only work per user. They can be detected by all users with an A/V scan, but I have read articles about this odd scenario of virus writers. i would go to www.housecall.antivirus.com and run the FREE SCAN using the JAVA based kernel. It's updated daily, and IMO a great FREE product. I have had better sucess with housecall than with other more branded A/V softwares. Definitely try that, We are reaching the end of the road towards this, and there are very few things left that could be affecting this, especially if it is not occuring on your wife's account. I'll do some research and see if I can dig up any known issues concerning this.
