if you have a need for them.. ie fish or coral that would benefit from fresh hatched shirmp.... it is easy to do but a bit of a hassle.. i do it periodically for my tank

I found it much easier to just buy them from a shop then continue making them myself. Before I knew it I had 4 different kits running so that I could have fresh shrimps daily. The kitchen looked like a meth lab with this giant airpump running 4 inverted soda bottles. Then you have to seperate the shells from the shrimp. eventually I found that part the most frustrating and would toss it all in the tank. I know I have at least one of those kits left somewhere you could have.

well making the kit seems simple, i have all the stuff laying around, just wonder if setting it up and doing it was worth the time and trouble, i know i saw your setup texreefer at the last meeting. the big question is what is the benefit over homemade food, or frozen food or flake food. but thanx for the offer caferacermike
well,, live is always better than dead or frozen..its just a matter of if you want to go through the trouble,, i only do it twice a month or so

Actually... By the time the live has lived for a couple of days without eating being shipped to you, you might be surprised that the frozen - frozen with full bellies - likely provide better nutrition than the live. That being said, live will surely attract more attention! One of the good reasons to grow your own rather than buy live.

I think the other Jose (SeaMonkey) was growing them, you may want to send him a PM.
I tried growing them and it was a big hassle, so I just buy them from the LFS. LEss hassle and if you put them in the fridge then it will last a week.

growing them to adulhood is a hassle, but the hacheries are not, IMO
I do it daily one inverted cone, and is pretty easy if I say so myself, the key is to let the eggs float for about 15 min with the air off, then drain it, refill it and repeat
I got me a easy set up so is easy for me, but even then it has began to be an extra duty, so I am not going to do it for a while, imagine I got a BIG can of shrimp now that I am going to freeze for later
