    Default eheim impeller question

Does this look messed up to you. I've never had a eheim pump so I dont know if the impellers just look like this

The impellers look fine, the only thing is the white part in the middle looks a bit bent. I don't know if it will effect its performance though.

yeah the center is not smooth. Most of my impellers have a perfect circle in the middle. this one is all bumpy and significantly larger than the shaft

1048.... acutally I figured out that it was very worn out so much so that the center was 3x bigger than it was suppost to be. I just went out and bought a new one =)

That was what I was thinking. How old was it? I have units that have been running for 4 years without that problem. I love Eheim pumps. I'm wondering, if it's not an old pump, if you should be looking for a cause.

Ben, You can get a replacement from Aquatek for about $15-20. I got a new shaft for mine for $6 and I think the impeller is $12. That one needs to be replaced or it will ruin the magnet.

Sorry i didn't see that you got a new one.

If theres enough play between the shaft and the magnet, not only will you wear out the magnet, but youll also wear out the inside of the pump and potentialy leak electricity into your tank....
