I guess my problem is the fact that you ave to buy a seperate HD dvd player rather than it being built in. I hate having the auxillary equipment sticking out.

Is Reef Madness Catchy???
for movies go blueray as it blows away hd dvd, for gaming go for a 360 i have both so i get both worlds!!! xbox 360 has awsome online service and great games, the ps3 has awsome dvd playback as well as blueray
I have all three and here is my take on them.
360 ---- great graphics, the best game selection ( for now ) but they will be releasing a newer version with HDMI and a bigger HD to compete with the PS3. They have had problems with some of the units scratching discs...I had to return one to Cosco. The HD-DVD player does not have the sound quality as a real HD-DVD player and I had issues with mine so I returned it.
WII ---- awesome concept with the controllers, parents can no longer say that playing video games and excercise don't go hand in hand. Too few games right now and graphically it is not even close to the 360 or PS3, but the price point is much better...as it should be.
PS3--- wow, what potential, but waaay too few games right now. The graphics are outstanding , the controllers are better than the 360 and almost as cool as the WII's. THe BLue rays are cool but they still have not reached their potential. Some say that Sony and Blue ray are in trouble, I say all disc based music, games and movies formats are, but for now the PS3 is what I play the most. Madden on PS3 is definitley better than the 360 version...smoother framerate, motion sensitive controller. The 1080p NBA game is amazing to look at , my wife thought it was an actuall game.
There is some argument regarding the video quality of hd-dvd vs. blu-ray. Go to avs forum to find out more. I would just consider the ability to play high def dvds as a bonus. Go for the best gaming experience.
