    Default Sprint vs. Nextel?

OK, we've had enough of Sprint. Basically, our problems have to do with lousy customer service when it comes to lousy phones. Yeah, I KNOW Sprint owns Nextel. But, here's the deal:

We have 5 phones. 4 are up April 1, the other in September. Of the 5 phones, all 5 are in varying conditions from barely working to mostly dead. Sprint phones just are NOT durable. We can wait until April 1 and pay a single $200 termination fee, and to go to Tmobile or ATT.

Or, Nextel will let us change now, with no termination fee, and big incentives to change. Does anyone have Nextel and how is the service?

We have 3 nextel phones i880 (mine) i870 (moms) i560 (dads) over all they're really good. I have an old i355 which I use for when im playing paintball and it can live through mud, sand, water and drops.
And service is great. If you really want great customer service got to an actual Nextel store not a authorized retailer in a little mall.
    29G Mixed tank, 380w of light (250w 14k Ushio, 2x65w PC Actinic), Octopus NW110, 75x turnover.

Finally after years I have a tank worth showing!

I changed from Sprint to Nextel for the exact same reason. Would count the days till I was eligible for the phone upgrade, because my old one was a piece of poop. Been with Nextel for 4 months now and have no problems with the phone at all. Drove away with it on the roof of the car and still worked after it fell off. The Nextel phones are a bit more expensive but worth it IMO. Plus it is really loud, so if you work in a noisy enviroment you can still hear it. For 5 bucks a month you can still call all the sprint people (and now nextel) for free.
As far as customer service.... Only called twice and was connected to India but they were able to answer my questions and correct the problem. So don't really have anything to say good or bad.
But with all the cell companies it almost seems like they try harder to get new customers than to keep the one's they have. But that's a rant I'll not get into here.
So if your hard on your phones NEXTEL is the way to go.
    Good luck

Well, I'm KIND of hard on phones - I have a PPC 6700 - and it is absolutely the biggest piece of junk I've ever owned. Been garbage from the day I got it. My daughters are absolutely brutal.

Sprint phones just seem so fragile. I just want to make sure the coverage is good.

    Thanks for your opinions.

I think coverage is about the same if not better. Seems NEXTEL has more "penetrating" power. I used to get like 1 bar at work (steel building) and now with NEXTEL is full strength.
