I wouldnt even use bioballs, just put a piece of lr in the bottom and some filter floss to collect detritus. You will enough biological filtration in your rock and sand, you need some mechanical filtration to get rid of all the fish waste.

i do have a filsatr xp2 which has some of that pourous kinda brillo padish pads in it... it does its thing thats for sure! I am having small air bubble issues though.
