Default having some trouble with my Flame Hawk

hey guys, i have a 30 gallon tank going right now. i have one black percula clown and a flame hawk fish. the clownfish was the first in the tank, then i quarantined the hawk fish for 3 weeks.

the hawk fish and the clown have been doing just fine together, and i decided it was time for my last addition to the tank, a sixline wrasse.

after quarantining the wrasse i plopped him in my tank and the hawk fish went after him. the hawk chased him all round the tank and nipped his tail pretty good, then it seem the hawk fish got bored and i thought everything was going to be ok.

then an hour before my light goes off i noticed the sixline had found a really nice hiding spot in the tank and i thought "oh good, now he can settle in". then the hawk fish discovered the hiding place and tried his best to get to him, but he couldn't. but the hawk fish seemed really agitated, as he kept trying to get to the six line, like getting to him was a game now.

then when the light plinked off the six line ventured out of hiding for a moment, the hawk fish attacked him like never before, he really bit into him hard (my flame hawk is pretty much full grown so he is significantly bigger) several times and took some chunks off this time. i rushed and got my net and caught the wrasse and put him in my quarantine, tank though i don't think he is going to make it. :sick

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

sorry this is so long..... i would much rather have a six line over the hawk fish. so if there is no solution to the problem, i have a flame hawk for trade

Flame Hawks can be hit or miss. Mine is kind of timid - but he is in a big tank. Plenty of other bullies to chase or play with. With that small a tank, and he's full grown, you might continue to have a problem with him - it's HIS tank now! I've struggled with 6 lines - I have one doing fine right now in my 55, but haven't had much luck in my 215. Nothing in my 55 to chase him.

If the Six Line survives try putting him back in the tank and putting the Flame Hawk in the QT for a few weeks. Then reintroduce him to the system. Just a thought.

I had a Flamehawk and he was introduced to the tank after the Sixline. One day the Sixline disappeared never to be found. I don't remember the Flamehawk really chasing the Six Line around too much.

About a month later I purchased another Sixline and as soon as I intorduced it to the tank the Flamehawk went nuts. He chased the Sixline all over the tank. 2 weeks later my Flamehawk became really stressed lost his color stopped eating. He ended up dying before I was able to catch him and get him out of the tank.

Compatability chart says that they are ok together but hearing your story makes me think otherwise.
