Strange pistol shrimp like noises.

What are the chances I could have a pistol shrimp unknown to me? For the last 2 months I swear I've heard one snapping around in my tank. I havn't bought one, that's for sure. Lately I've only been getting frags, not colonies or rock work. No new live rock. Could it have been a larva or a tiny one that finally grew up? Could it just be a hermit?

probably was a tiny baby in your live rock and grew. i have one that is about 2" long that has now paired up with my pink/blue diamond goby. it was a hitch hiker at some point.

Yeah I was thinking of tossing in a handful of gobies and jawfish to see if I could "attract" the offender. Mmmmm...... Blue spot jawfish.
