    Default Pseudo-Emergency...RESOLVED

Does anyone in the Schertz (or close to it) area have any RO/DI I could buy...TODAY??? I redid my hospital tank, and forgot to buy water, so it is only about half full. I need about 4 gallons.

If anyone can help, please call me at 210-842-1842.

    Merry Christmas to all.

If you just need four gallons go to one of the water machines that are sitting outside some stores.

Agreed, good value for 25-35 cents a gallon. Even if the filters are a little old it will still have less TDS than tap.

go to heb and use the water machine there... Even better than ro/di, as it is 2x carbon filtered and uv sterylized....

Thanks to all of you for responding, prior to, and after this response. The smilies are not meant to be smart-a$$ed. I just never knew that that water was worth a darn. I had not ever looked into it.

Do y'all consider that water a stop-gap measure, or is it cool to use it all the time?

By the way, I hope all of you have/had/are having a great Christmas.

I know several people with great tanks that use only that water. I buy mine from the lfs but in reality that's no more reliable than my tap water unless I test it, which honestly I don't do very often. Your own RO unit can be very complicated and costly to run. From what I've heard most of these machines are taken care of on a regular rotation and are therby quite reliable. You can buy a handheld TDS meter that you stick into the water to test it. For about $20 you can buy your own TDS meter and test the water before buying several gallons.

Sorry for the late response... If ANYONE needs any RO/DI water, just come by. I have 2 systems, and always have plenty. It's free... As long as you take some chaeto...

Bill, I would appreciate the chance to get some Chaeto from you, and to finally meet you as well. After the turn of the year would be great. I intend to create a baby/hillbilly refugium in the compartments of my Biocube. Would that be acceptable? I would like to give you something for the Chaeto, though, if I could. LMK

No, I won't take anything for it - I give it away to the LFSs. I just need to know so that I save some. I have lots of chaeto, caulerpa and grape caulerpa. Got a small piece of grape from Felipe about 3 weeks ago, and it's going wild... We are going skiing until the evening of the 1st, after that, I'll be here. I have to pay for these trips and presents...
