    Default Do yout hink this tank needs bracing?

    So I picked up a 140 gal 40" x 40" x 20" and surprisingly it is made of 1/2" glass and not braced at all. My current 70 gal isnt braced on the 36" side and uses 1/2" glass as well but I'm not sure if the extra 4" makes a difference. I know 48" tanks are braced, but do you think?

    My 110gal 48x18x30 is braced, 1/2" glass, 40" aint much less than 48", I would want to see bracing, of some sort....

    the height may be why it isnt braced. it is only 20" deep, how deep was your 70 gallon ben?

    the 70 gal is 25" tall. I never considered the height, that might be the reason. I picked up some glass to eurobrace it anyways, it was free so what the heck
