    Default RO TDS testers

Anyone have a good or bad experience with the "HM Digital In-line Dual TDS Meter"

    http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewIt...product=RO1312

Anyone know of something better? I've got a Hanna Combo that measures pH and TDS but somehow water eventually creeped in, even though they say it is water proof!!! I took it apart because the Hanna technical manager told me "it sounds like its time to get a new meter," even though I've had it for maybe a maximum of two years!!! When I took it apart I found that the gasket that made the TDS sensor water proof had deteriorated!!! If I knew that it should have been replaced I would have but all they say is to replace the probe!!! Well guess what, I went and bought a new probe and $20 worth of new batteries before it went south. I took it apart, cleaned it, dried it out, and resealed it and now it works but the display gets bad and fades sometimes and the TDS probe doesn't seem to be taking precise enough measurements.

Don't get the Hanna combo meter unless you've got around $150 to spend each year or so on a new one, something I thought would last a long time by replacing what they said to replace.

I have the H&M unit and from what I've seen they tend to be the industry standard. You can find them on Ebay for about $14. I accidently got mine wet and I thought I killed it. It came back on few hours later.

Really, what do you suspect was the reason for it going out?
