skimmer gel?

Can anyone out there tell me what type of gel to use on the top of a euroreef skimmer so that it is easier to unscrew when emptying the collection cup?

Silicon oil or grease. It's inert and will not affect anything in your tank.

Vaseline will destroy the o-ring. Look for food grade silicone. You can find in sometimes in grocery and home stores for lubricating food processers.
