    Default Spotted Cardinal or Banggai Cardinal

    i want to get about three of these for my tank but i dont know witch one to get i like the Banggai Cardinal because of the black and sliver coloring but i heard that they hide alot behind rocks.but i also like the Spotted Cardinal because it is wired looking and different . any opinions or comment would be great Appreciated.

    Well banggai's are a cooler looking fish IMO. Two males will not get along though so you would probably have to have 1 male and two females unless you have a large tank. There is no reliable way to distinguish between males and females though. I spoke with a former breeder and his method was to put one in with another and just observe the reaction. If they fought he removed the newcomer and tried a different one. Banggai's are less hardy than the spotted cardinals. I think mostly because captive bred ones are only occasionally available but also I know that wild Banggai's have a higher loss rate than wild spotted cardinals.

    Spotted or Pajama cardinals are a really cool fish also. I have never had a many problems with aggression between them so it seems that males are more tolerant of each other than the banggai's. CB ones are usually available.

    Both are not a real active and will hover in the exact same spot for hours.

    i have a pair of bangaii's that i've had for a couple of years, they're beutifull fish, andd very interesting to watch.

    I have pajamas they dont move much but if you move to the glass they get closer and watch you.. its funny. Plus they eat alot. (or that mine are just pigs)
