    Default yellow tail damsel

    i have been wanting to get some small fish for my reef tank i have a 46 gal tank. i have six line wrasse and that is about but i want some more fish movement and color i dont want big fish and i dont know about clown fish but i heard that yellow tail damsels are the best ones to go with because they are really reef safe.does any one have some or some opinions.

    Stay away from the Yellow-tail damsels. They can be terrors and are hard to catch when you figure out how rough they can get. Some alternatives: Bangaii (Banner) Cardinal, Pajama Cardinals, Royal Gramma, or Chalk Basslets. If you really feel the need to do damsels I would go with the Yellowbelly Damsels, which are quite a bit more docile than the yellowtail. Your setup looks great, I wouldn't sully it with damsels.

    How about a few Green Chromis or some firefish? They won't bother anything.

    I like the Goby family personally. Get you a couple of the same species that school and they are neat. I had a couple of bar gobies that were fun to watch. I also second, or third whichever, the firefish but get 2 or 3 of them so they are comfortable and act like a school.
