    Default Sound Proofing...

well, i have water in my 58 gallon, and the pump is running, but its a pretty lound pump, and im getting a loud falling water sound... the fdalling water ill try to fix by adding some filter floss, or some sort of foam beneath the tubing where the water shoots into the sump... but the return pump is another problem... its sitting behind the stand, because theres no room inside... what should i use to soundproof the tank... i want to build somehting to enclose the area between the tank, and wall. what would be best to soundproof it?

Have you tried setting it on a piece of rubber, like a mouse pad? It only helps a little bit.

I bought a rubber doormat at Target today and put it under my sump, and its 100% more quiet now
Also, I cut a 1/2" piece of sponge and put it under my return pump, which also cut down on noise a ton

I used mouse pads underneath my external pump and the true union ball valve. That made a big difference.
