    Default Icecap 430

Not really an emergency but, is there anyone in the south Austin area that has a 430 ballast that would be willing to bring to my house to check to see if mine bit the dust? For some reason my vho' quit working and I suspect the ballast. If you can help me out, Id sure appreciate it! It would only take a minute or two of your time.
    Thanks!

Jim, how old is your ballast? I sent mine back to Icecap a few months ago, they CLAIMED that the could find nothing wrong with it, but "upgraded it" anyway... Worked flawlessly when it arrived back ;)

hhmmm, Its probably like 5-6 years old and was used when I got it. I think Ill check their site and see what their repair policies are. Ive already drilled out the rivits so I can get into it when water gets on it to blow it out so they might just say no way. Plus, Im not 100% sure its the ballast, thats why I was hoping to find someone here localy that has one so I can verify for sure. Thanks for the reply!

Jim, you can try some regular cheap 40 watt lamps. the ice caps will work with them. If they fire up ya know it's probably one of the vho lamps. thats what I did when mine quit. turned out to be a bad lamp on mine

Yeah, I have some spare bulbs I can try, its just such a PITA to get them out of my canopy, if I cant find a bllast Ill for sure give that a shot. I dont remember if this things wired in parallel or series, I think parallel so if one bulb fails the others would ramain on? Hell, I cant remember. lol
