Beckett users

For those of you using beckett skimmers. How far open do you keep your air valve(s). I was wondering if I should open them up more and open up the gate valve more to see if it would skimm any better.

i use the drain valve to control the water level to keep it at the top of the large riser tube with no bubbles, then adjust the air so the skimmate is dark and wet - just my preference. wow, if i didnt know we were talking about skimmers, that would sound really bad :lol
