    Default Collecting your own

I have herd that we can collect our own fish and shrimp and crabs and what not from the ocean. I would like to hear what people have done? what they have caught ? where they caught it? and any other info about collecting your own creatures for your tank.
    thanks

I've collected some hermits as my clean up crew. and they clean pretty **** well but after a couple of weeks my clownfish vanished and thought that my big black cardinal ate but just to be on the safe side i took out all the crabs exccept for 1 big one and 2 small ones just to keep up the dirty work, but then 2-3 weeks later my big black cardinal vanished as well!! but was amazed that they could have eaten it i thought he jumped out or was hiding in the rocks. but i wasnt able to find him so i think its a 50/50 chance good and bad

You can catch a lot of gobies and blennies from the jetties. You have to be careful some of the more aggressive fish though, like sargeant majors. Peppermint shrimp were mentioned. As Joshua said some of the snails and hermits are major predators. So, unless you know exactly what you have, its better to stay with critters from LFS.
