Adding coral shouldn't cause an increase in nitrate unless there was some die off of the corals. Unfortunately we often look at the most recent event in a tank and blame it. The actual cause may be something totally different. When was the last time you tested nitrate and what was the result then?

I tested it around 8:30 today and it read 40
29G Mixed tank, 380w of light (250w 14k Ushio, 2x65w PC Actinic), Octopus NW110, 75x turnover.
