    Default CA reactor question

Ok, I have a question. I’m recharging my ca reactor. Any yes there was a lot of gunk. Looks like I have to replace all the media. This is a dual chambered MRC unit. I noticed that there is some foam that had deteriorated (it prevents the media from circulating through the pump). My question is can I replace this foam with regular filter floss or do I need something special?
Thanks in advance for your help.

If the water will flow good through the filter floss, I don't see a problem with it.

i dont think there should be any media flowing through the pump.Ive never seen a filter/foam deteriorate completely, maybe you should just clean the filter really well and replace the media.Keep an eye on your Ph inside the reactor to avoid creating mush of your media.thats what i would do anyway.HTH
